Key Moments
Party Founded
The NNP was formed through the merger of the Grenada National Party (GNP), the National Democratic Party (NDP), and the Grenada Democratic Movement (GDM).
First Election Victory
Under Herbert Blaize, the NNP won 14 of 15 seats in the general election. Blaize became Prime Minister.
Keith Mitchell Era Begins
Dr. Keith Mitchell led the NNP to victory, beginning a long and transformative period of leadership.
Historic Clean Sweep
The NNP won all 15 parliamentary seats — a historic mandate from the people of Grenada.
Second Clean Sweep
The NNP retained all 15 seats, a testament to the party's governance and public trust.
New Leadership
Emmalin Pierre elected as the first female political leader. Dr. Mitchell transitioned to Party Chairman.
Opposition Leader

Hon. Emmalin Pierre
Political Leader
A leader whose life's work is a testament to service, faith, and visionary leadership. From her early days as a journalist and educator to her historic rise as the Political Leader of the New National Party and Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Emmalin Pierre has remained a steadfast champion for the people of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique. She has spent over two decades in the trenches of frontline politics, serving with distinction as a multi-term Member of Parliament and a Cabinet Minister in key portfolios including Education and Youth. But her leadership extends far beyond the halls of government. She is also a Minister of the Gospel who holds a Master's in Leadership and Innovation and is currently pursuing her doctorate. She stands here today not just as a veteran stateswoman, but as the bridge between our party's experience and its new direction. She brings the rare combination of deep institutional knowledge and a modern, consultative, people-focused mindset. Please welcome the woman leading our team and our nation forward, Hon. Norland Cox
Deputy Political Leader
Born in Dover, Carriacou. Married to Deann Cox, father of four. Over 17 years in public service — 15 years as Agricultural Instructor in the Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs, then Health Services Administrator at Princess Royal Hospital. Appointed to the Upper House of Parliament in 2014. Served as Parliamentary Secretary, Minister for Youth Development, Sports, Culture and Arts, and Minister for Infrastructure Development, Public Utilities, Transport and Implementation. Elected NNP Deputy Political Leader at the December 2024 convention and named NNP caretaker for Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Dr. Keith Mitchell
Party Chairman
Born in Brizan, St. George's. Keith Claudius Mitchell earned a BSc in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of the West Indies (1971), a Master's from Howard University (1975), and a Doctorate in Mathematics and Statistics from American University (1979). He worked as a Mathematics Professor at Howard University and as a statistician in the United States before returning to Grenada in 1984. Elected to the House of Representatives for St. George North West that same year, he became NNP leader in 1989. He served as Prime Minister from 1995 to 2008 and again from 2013 to 2022 — Grenada's longest-serving head of government. Under his leadership, the NNP won all 15 parliamentary seats in both 2013 and 2018, a historic achievement. Also a former captain of the Grenada cricket team (1973) and long-time cricket administrator. Transitioned to Party Chairman in December 2024 to mentor the new generation of NNP leadership.

Gregory Bowen
Deputy Chairman
A longstanding member of the New National Party and dedicated public servant. Gregory Bowen continues to play a vital role in the party's organisational strength and strategic direction as Deputy Chairman of the NNP.
Roland Bhola
General Secretary
A key architect of the NNP's organisational machinery, Roland Bhola serves as General Secretary — overseeing party operations, candidate selection, and constituency readiness. A firm believer that political work must be continuous and rooted in genuine community engagement, he has been instrumental in ensuring the NNP fields a full slate of prepared candidates ahead of every election cycle.

Kate Lewis-Peters
Assistant General Secretary
A dedicated educator and parliamentarian. She holds a Bachelor's in Accounting (First Class Honours) from UWI and a Master's in International Business from St. George's University. A teacher at SJC-Grenville for 17 years, she led the school's Junior Achievement Program. She won her seat in both the 2018 and 2022 general elections and is the youngest MP on the Opposition side.

Nimrod Ollivierre
Treasurer
A retired New York Police Department Lieutenant who advanced through the ranks within eight years, earning the Medal of Valor and several commendations. He holds a BA in Criminal Justice and a Master's in Public Administration with Honours. A cultural enthusiast, he created the internationally recognised 'White in the Moonlight' cultural event. Born and raised in St. George, he is a father of six.

Kitaka Mawuto
Communications Strategist
Born and raised in Grenada. A seasoned Caribbean communications strategist with over a decade of experience shaping political narratives, managing media relationships, and driving high stakes messaging campaigns across the region. He brings a rare combination of agency level expertise and ground level Caribbean political intelligence to the NNP.
