Honouring Women Across Grenada
The New National Party marked International Women's Day 2026 with a series of tributes and celebrations honouring the role of women in shaping Grenada's homes, workplaces, communities, and national life.
Political Leader Emmalin Pierre led the party's acknowledgements, sharing a message of solidarity and pride.
"Happy International Women's Day to the women shaping our homes, workplaces, communities, and nation," Pierre said. "Honoured to stand among the strong women of Grenada and the men who proudly stand with us."
Women's Arm Convention and Celebrations
The party's Women's Arm organised International Women's Day celebrations that brought together women from across the NNP's constituency network. The event featured an address by Hon. Jean Augustine as guest speaker, underlining the party's commitment to drawing on the wisdom and experience of distinguished women leaders.
NNP candidate for St Andrew North-East, Kate Lewis, expressed gratitude for the event and the guest speaker's contribution.
"International Women's Day Celebrations organized by the Women's Arm of our Party. Thank you Hon. Jean Augustine, our Guest Speaker. Give to Gain," Lewis shared.
Celebrating and Protecting
The celebrations also carried a deeper message about the need to not only celebrate women's achievements but to actively protect their rights and well-being.
"As we celebrate the strength, brilliance and contributions of women, we must also acknowledge their contributions in so many sectors of our nation," the party noted. "To truly honour them, we must continue to celebrate them while protecting them."
Women Leading the NNP
International Women's Day 2026 comes at a time when the NNP is itself led by a woman — Political Leader Emmalin Pierre — and features a growing number of women in prominent positions across the party's candidate slate, including Dr. Myanna Charles in St Mark, Kate Lewis in St Andrew North-East, Noleen Thompson in St David, and Amanda Japal-George in St Andrew South-West.
The party's message was clear: women are not simply participants in the NNP's vision for Grenada — they are at the forefront of it.
