Four New Faces, One Mission
On April 23, 2025, the New National Party held a spirited meet-and-greet at party headquarters to introduce four constituency caretakers who will lead the NNP's ground-level engagement in key areas across Grenada.
The four caretakers are:
- Noleen Thompson — St David
- Christopher DeAllie Jr — St George South
- Jelani Glean — St Patrick West
- Amada Japal-George — St Andrew South-West
Each of these constituencies was lost by the NNP in the 2022 general election, and the appointment of caretakers signals the party's determination to reconnect with voters and rebuild from the ground up.
Caretakers vs. Candidates
General Secretary Roland Bhola took the opportunity to explain an important distinction that is sometimes misunderstood by the public: the difference between a constituency caretaker and an election candidate.
"A caretaker is someone who works in the constituency every day — listening to people, understanding their needs, and representing the party at the community level," Bhola explained. "A candidate is formally nominated closer to an election. Our caretakers may well become candidates, but their immediate job is service, not campaigning."
This approach reflects the NNP's long-standing belief that political work is not seasonal — it must be continuous and rooted in genuine community engagement.
Building From the Ground Up
Political Leader Emmalin Pierre welcomed the four caretakers and urged them to lead with humility and purpose.
"These four individuals were chosen because they have demonstrated commitment to their communities long before being asked to serve the party," Pierre said. "They are not parachuted in — they are rooted where they serve."
The event was well attended by party supporters and community members, many of whom expressed enthusiasm about the fresh energy the caretakers bring.
What Comes Next
The caretakers will begin a programme of constituency walks, town hall meetings, and one-on-one engagements in the weeks ahead. Their work will be guided by a simple principle: listen first, then act.
The NNP sees this ground-level presence as essential to winning back the trust and support of Grenadians in every parish.
